Quadruple USB charger for Canon NB-8L batteries

This Kastar charger powers up to four Canon NB-8L or NB-8LH batteries simultaneously. It accepts Micro-USB or USB-C input at 5 V 2–3 A and delivers 4.2 V at 800 mA for one or two cells, dropping to 500 mA when three or four are fitted. A compact display shows charge status and remaining capacity for each slot.

For owners of multiple PowerShot A-series cameras

Photographers using several compatible models such as the PowerShot A2200, A3000 IS, A3100 IS, A3150 IS, A3200 IS or A3300 IS can keep every spare battery topped up from one outlet. Users who need to charge larger DSLR packs, or who require faster than 800 mA per cell, should look at a different solution.

Charges four NB-8L type batteries at once

The defining feature is the four independent bays that accept Canon NB-8L, NB-8LH, CB-2LA and CB-2LAE cells together. Input flexibility comes from both Micro-USB and USB-C ports, supplied with a Type-C cable, so the unit works with common phone chargers or power banks.

Questions about this item

How much heat or noise does the 15 W charger produce when running all day?

The unit draws 15 W from a 5 V 2–3 A source and charges up to four batteries without fans, so it stays cool and silent during extended use.

What power source must I already have to run the USB-C and Micro-USB inputs?

Any 5 V USB charger or power bank that can supply 2–3 A will drive both the Type-C and Micro-USB ports; a Type-C cable is included.

Will the charger work with the NB-8LH packs I use in my PowerShot A3200 IS?

Yes — the charger supports Canon NB-8L and NB-8LH batteries, which power the PowerShot A3200 IS and the other listed A-series models.
