Covered Tunnel Design
The Kat Sense trap uses a fully enclosed tunnel that houses the snap mechanism inside a locked chamber. Two entry points allow rodents to approach from either direction while keeping the trigger and captured animal out of sight. The cover prevents accidental activation from curious pets or children and contains droppings and debris until the trap is emptied.
Snap Mechanism Limits
The spring-loaded bar delivers a quick kill but only fits rodents that can pass through the tunnel openings. Large adult rats near the upper weight range may hesitate to enter the confined tube, and very small mice can sometimes take bait without triggering the precision plate. The trap is single-catch, so each unit handles one rodent before it must be cleared and reset.
Tool-Free Setup Issues
Bait is added through a top access door, the trap is placed along a wall, and the locking latch secures the chamber — no tools required. Common problems include bait being stolen without a trigger if the plate sensitivity is not checked, and the plastic latch stiffening in freezing temperatures, which can make reopening difficult with cold hands. Regular cleaning keeps the mechanism moving freely.

Questions about this item
Should I choose the set of 6 or the set of 8 for a typical home?
The set of 6 provides six covered snap traps with a tunnel design for touch-free disposal, while the set of 8 uses a different capturing-teeth mechanism; pick the set of 6 if you prefer the enclosed, pet-safe tunnel style.
How does the tunnel design work once the trap is placed indoors?
Rodents enter through either of the two entry points, trigger the enclosed snap mechanism, and remain locked inside the chamber so you can dispose of the catch without touching the animal.
Does the trap require a specific bait type or station standard to function?
No proprietary bait station standard is needed; the trap works with common attractants such as peanut butter or nuts placed inside the chamber, and the secure locking lid keeps bait contained.
