Compact Brass Fountain Pen

The Kaweco Sport Brass is a German-made fountain pen with a solid brass barrel and a stainless steel Bock nib in extra fine grade. At 104 mm closed and 132 mm posted, it fits a pocket or small bag while the brass gives it a substantial 14 mm diameter feel. The extra fine point suits writers who prefer a precise, controlled line.

Upgrade from Lightweight Plastics

It replaces flimsy resin or aluminium pens that feel insubstantial during long writing sessions. The jump is worth it when you want a durable metal body that develops a personal patina and a nib tuned for consistent ink flow without scratchiness. Writers who favour a heavier balance will notice the difference immediately.

Everyday Carry Capacity

The compact 4.1 inch closed length handles daily notes, journaling and correspondence with standard international cartridges or a converter. It runs out when a task demands a broad or flexible nib for expressive line variation or when a larger grip section is needed for extended comfort.

Questions about this item

What refill or cartridge size fits the Kaweco Sport Brass EF fountain pen?

It uses standard international short cartridges or a Kaweco converter; the 104 mm closed barrel only accepts the short format.

How do you post the cap on the 132 mm open length without cracking the brass threads?

Align the cap squarely on the 14 mm diameter barrel and turn gently until it seats; forcing the threads on the solid brass body can strip them.

Will the stainless steel Bock EF nib need replacement, and how often should the brass barrel be polished?

The Bock EF nib is durable for years of writing; polish the solid brass barrel with a soft cloth whenever patina appears to restore shine.
