Non-Contact AC Voltage Detection

The KEHIPI electrical pen detects AC voltage from 12 V to 1000 V and from 48 V to 1000 V without touching conductors. A simple press of the S button switches between the two sensitivity ranges. Red and green LCD backlighting plus a variable beep rate give immediate visual and audible confirmation of live or null wires. The tool is rated CAT III 1000 V and CAT IV 600 V with double insulation.

Handheld Pen Form Factor

The tester measures 4.2926 in wide and fits in a shirt pocket or tool pouch for quick access at panels, outlets or junction boxes. No test leads are required for the primary non-contact function, freeing both hands for probe work or ladder work. An integrated LED flashlight illuminates dark enclosures, and the unit powers down automatically after three minutes of inactivity to conserve the battery. A low-battery icon appears when voltage drops below 2.5 V.

Sustained Field Use

The LCD remains readable during extended tracing sessions and the audible alarm increases in frequency as the tip approaches the voltage source, helping pinpoint wire breakpoints. The high-voltage alert triggers at 90 V, turning the screen red and lighting the safety symbol for continuous hazard awareness. CE certification and the CAT ratings support professional daily use across residential, commercial and industrial environments. The automatic shut-off prevents accidental drain during breaks.
