Capture card for streaming and recording

This compact HDMI to USB capture card accepts 4K input at 30 Hz and delivers 2K at 30 Hz or 1080p at 60 Hz over a USB 3.0 link. It suits creators who need real-time preview for live gaming, online meetings or camera capture without installing internal hardware. Plug-and-play operation works across MacOS, iPad, consoles and PC, so setup stays simple for mobile and desktop workflows alike.

Aluminium shell with dual USB connectors

The silver aluminium body measures 9.13 in by 1.02 in by 0.24 in and weighs 0.1 lb, making it easy to carry between locations. A USB-C port and a USB-A adapter provide broad host compatibility while the HDMI input handles cameras, consoles or other sources. Only the USB-C connection supports Power Delivery, so charging a connected laptop or tablet requires a 100 W USB-C charger and a host port that accepts PD.

OBS tweak and PD 100 W charging

Bundled driver-free operation means OBS or similar software recognises the device instantly, though the first capture window may need a delete-and-reopen step to lock to USB 2.0 fallback. The PD 3.0 100 W pass-through keeps a USB-C host powered during long streams, while YUY2 and MJPEG formats preserve original quality for later editing. Note that disconnecting power mid-session can pause the preview until the source is reselected.

Questions about this item

What does the USB 3.0 interface cap the capture output at in practice?

The USB 3.0 port limits output to 1080p at 60 Hz or 2K at 30 Hz even though the HDMI input accepts 4K at 30 Hz.

What physical space does the capture card need to fit?

The card measures 9.13 in long by 1.02 in wide by 0.24 in thick and weighs 0.1 lb, so it fits in a shallow bag or pocket.

How is the capture card installed and what step do people miss?

Plug the HDMI source into the card, connect the card via USB-C or USB-A to the host, then in OBS delete the first capture source and re-add it so the software recognises the USB 2.0 fallback.
