The scale ships with four 1.5 V button cells and powers down after two minutes of inactivity to extend their life.

What is the heaviest tracking force the gauge can measure?

The scale reads up to 5 g with 0.01 g resolution, so forces above 5 g are outside its range.

Does the LCD backlight add noticeable heat during long sessions?

The blue backlight draws minimal power from the button cells and the auto-off feature prevents any heat build-up.
