Trackball with Scroll Ring

The Kensington Orbit is a wired trackball that uses a stationary optical sensor and a scroll ring for cursor control and navigation. Its ambidextrous shape suits left- or right-handed users. The device connects via USB and includes a detachable wrist rest for extended comfort during long sessions.

Customisable Buttons and Software

TrackballWorks software lets you reassign the two buttons to match specific workflows or application shortcuts. The scroll ring replaces a conventional wheel, letting you pan through documents and web pages without moving the ball. The detachable wrist rest can be removed if desk space is limited or a different support is preferred.

Suited for Fixed-Position Workspaces

This trackball fits users who want precise pointing without moving a mouse across the desk, especially in cramped or shared work areas. It is not for buyers who need wireless freedom, additional programmable buttons beyond two, or a traditional mouse form factor for gaming or fast-paced creative tasks.

Questions about this item

Does the ball need cleaning or replacement over time?

The exposed ball can collect dust and skin oils, so occasional wiping keeps tracking smooth; no user-replaceable ball is mentioned.

What limits comfort during long sessions?

The fixed trackball posture keeps the hand stationary, and the supplied detachable wrist rest is the only palm support provided.

How much heat or noise does the wired USB trackball produce in all-day use?

Optical tracking and a wired USB connection generate no audible noise and negligible heat during continuous operation.
