For multi-display workflows, not Thunderbolt speed
Professionals who need two external 4K monitors at 60Hz from a USB-C or USB-A laptop will benefit from the four video ports and six USB connections. Users who require native Thunderbolt bandwidth or more than two 4K displays should consider a Thunderbolt-certified dock instead.

Questions about this item
Which video cables do I need to connect two 4K monitors to the two DisplayPort 1.2++ and two HDMI 2.0 outputs?
Use two DisplayPort cables, two HDMI cables, or one of each; the dock supplies four video ports so you can choose the combination that matches your monitors.
Will the dock charge a Surface Laptop that only has a USB-C port while driving two 4K displays?
Yes, the 135 W adapter delivers up to 85 W Power Delivery over USB-C, and Surface devices with USB-C ports accept that charge while the dock runs both displays at 60 Hz.
How can I confirm the dock is delivering 85 W to my laptop after I plug it in?
Open your OS battery or power settings and verify the charger is reported at 85 W; the dock’s front LED also stays solid when full Power Delivery is negotiated.
