What this 118W USB-C adapter powers

This 118W USB-C AC adapter delivers up to 118 watts of power through a single USB-C port. It supports a wide range of USB-C laptops, tablets and smartphones including MacBook Pro and Air models from 11 to 16 inches, iPad Pro and Air models, and Galaxy devices. The unit automatically identifies the connected device and negotiates the appropriate PD 3.0 power level from 29W up to 118W. It ships with a USB-C charge cable included.

Behaviour under sustained load

The adapter achieves up to 96 percent charging efficiency, which limits heat build-up during extended charging sessions. A built-in smart chip provides over-current, over-voltage, overload, over-temperature and short-circuit protection with auto-recovery. In testing it can fully charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro in about 1 hour 25 minutes and bring most phones from 0 to 80 percent in roughly 20 minutes. The AC input range of 100-240V at 1.5A 50Hz allows stable operation worldwide.

Installing and common issues

Connection is straightforward: plug the AC plug into a mains socket and the USB-C cable into the device. The adapter negotiates power automatically, so no driver or software setup is required. The most frequent issue is using a cable that does not support the required PD current, which limits the charging speed. Ensure the USB-C cable is rated for the power level your device requests. The unit is new and includes the charge cable in the box.
