Universal USB-C charger

This 45W AC adapter powers laptops and Chromebooks through a single USB-C connection. It accepts AC 100-240V at 1.3A and delivers multiple fixed voltages from 5V up to 20V. The unit is CE certified and supplied new.

Fixed voltage rails

The adapter provides six output steps: 5V at 3A, 9V at 3A, 12V at 3A, 15V at 3A, 18V at 2.5A and 20V at 2.25A. Devices negotiate the appropriate rail automatically so no manual selection is required.

45W ceiling

Maximum output is capped at 45W, so larger laptops that demand 60W or more will charge slowly or not at all. The barrel-plug chargers used by many older models are not supported by this USB-C only design.

Questions about this item

Does the USB-C cable on this 45 W adapter wear out and need replacing separately?

The cable is permanently attached to the adapter body, so the whole unit is replaced if the cable fails.

What limits continuous output when the adapter runs at 20 V 2.25 A for hours?

The 45 W maximum power rating is the first limit reached under sustained full load.

How warm does the brick get and is there a fan when it powers a laptop all day?

The adapter relies on passive cooling with no fan; it warms up but stays within normal operating temperature.
