65 W USB-C PD 3.0 laptop adapter

This 65 W USB-C power adapter replaces original chargers for a wide range of Dell XPS, Latitude, Inspiron, Precision and Chromebook models. It delivers 20 V at 3.25 A through a USB-C connector that supports Power Delivery 3.0. The unit accepts 100-240 V input at 50 or 60 Hz for worldwide use.

USB-C PD 3.0 output at 20 V 3.25 A

The single specification that decides compatibility is the 20 V 3.25 A USB-C Power Delivery 3.0 output. Your laptop must negotiate this exact voltage and current profile over USB-C PD 3.0; proprietary barrel-jack chargers or lower-wattage USB-C bricks will not work.

Thermals, noise and power draw

The adapter runs silently with no moving parts and draws up to 65 W from the mains under full load. Normal warmth is expected during charging; the plastic enclosure dissipates heat passively. No fan noise or active cooling is present.

Questions about this item

What does the 65 W rating mean when I plug this into my laptop?

The adapter can deliver up to 20 V at 3.25 A, so a compatible laptop will draw the full 65 W it needs for charging and operation.

Does the USB-C PD 3.0 port limit charging speed on any of the listed models?

PD 3.0 negotiates the optimal voltage up to 20 V, so each supported model charges at its maximum supported rate without an artificial cap.

Will the Type-C plug fit my Dell XPS 13 9370 without an extra dongle?

Yes, the connector is a standard USB-C plug that mates directly with the XPS 13 9370 charging port.
