Reliable Rear-View Camera

The Kenwood CMOS-230LP is a new backup camera with a 1/3.6" Color CMOS sensor delivering more than 325,000 pixels. It includes a license-plate mounting kit, a flexible mount base and a 24.5' cable harness for straightforward installation on most vehicles.

Sustained All-Weather Operation

A waterproof housing keeps the lens clear through rain, snow and road spray so image quality does not degrade during long trips. The sensor handles an illumination range of approximately .9 to 100,000 lux, providing a usable picture from near darkness to bright sunlight without temporary white-out.

Upgrade from Factory or Missing Systems

This kit replaces a missing rear-view aid or a low-resolution factory camera with a 128° horizontal by 103° vertical field of view and clearer night vision. The improvement is worthwhile when the existing display accepts a composite video input and the driver needs wider coverage for tight parking or trailer hitching.

Questions about this item

How much power does the CMOS-230LP draw when running continuously all day?

The camera operates from the vehicle's 12 V system and only draws current while the reverse circuit is active, so there is no continuous all-day load.

What must I already own for the CMOS-230LP to work?

You need a compatible Kenwood head unit with a dedicated rear-view camera input to display the image.

Will the 128° horizontal view match the display on my older Kenwood receiver?

The 128° horizontal and 103° vertical angles fill the screen on any Kenwood monitor that accepts a standard composite video signal.
