6.8" WVGA capacitive touch receiver

The Kenwood DMX8709S is a 6.8" WVGA digital multimedia receiver with a capacitive touch panel and a short chassis for easier installation. It includes the CMOS-230LP backup camera with a licence-plate mounting kit, a 24.5' cable harness and a 1/3.6" colour CMOS sensor rated at >325,000 pixels. Dual phone connection via Bluetooth lets two handsets stay paired at once.

Upgrade from basic radio or single-camera setups

The unit adds wired and wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Android Auto Wireless, plus USB mirroring for Android devices. Three camera inputs replace a single-reverse-camera limit, while 13-band EQ and digital time alignment replace fixed tone controls. The 4.0V pre-outs (three pairs) replace low-level speaker outputs for cleaner amplifier signals.

Build integration: short chassis, three pre-outs.

The short chassis frees depth behind the dash for wiring or adapters. Three 4.0V pre-outs feed front, rear and subwoofer amplifiers without a line-output converter. The CMOS-230LP camera covers 128° horizontal and 103° vertical with an illumination range of ~0.9-100,000 lux and a flexible mount base for angled licence-plate brackets.
