Questions about this item

How often will the internal cooling fan need replacement on this 12 V 100 W unit?

The fan is the primary moving part and its bearings will wear over time; under continuous 8.5 A load expect service after several years.

What component reaches its limit first during sustained 8.5 A output on this AC 100-120 V supply?

The electrolytic capacitors on the secondary side hit their temperature rating before other parts, so they define the continuous-duty ceiling.
