Questions about this item

How do I install this 460W ATX power supply in a Dell XPS 8300 and which step is often missed?

Mount the unit in the chassis, connect the 24-pin ATX and CPU power cables, then verify the Modern Standby wake wiring is seated so the system resumes from sleep correctly.

What maintenance will this AC460AM-01 need over its life?

Periodically clear dust from the fan intake so the Zero RPM mode can still spin down at low load; the fan is the only moving part that degrades.

What limit appears first when this 460W Gold unit runs at sustained load?

The 460W continuous output ceiling is reached before the 80 PLUS Gold efficiency curve drops, so total draw must stay at or below that rating.
