550W replacement for Sun servers

This ATX-form-factor power supply is built as a direct replacement for Sun part 300-1848-06 used in X445, X4100 and X4200 M2 systems. It delivers 550 W and is tested working before shipment. The unit targets IT teams maintaining these specific legacy platforms.

Straightforward swap with connector care

Installation follows the standard ATX mounting pattern, so the physical fit is simple. The main risk is mismatching the proprietary Sun pin-out on the 1848-06 connector, which can prevent the server from powering on. Verify the exact part number on the original unit before fitting.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 550W unit is working as intended after installation?

The power supply was test working by the supplier before dispatch. After fitting it into a compatible Sun X445, X4100 or X4200 M2 system, verify that the server powers on and remains stable under load.

What is included in the box and what must be purchased separately?

The package contains the DS550HE-3-001 power supply unit only. No extra cables, mounting rails or adapters are supplied, so reuse the existing cables and rails from the Sun 300-1848-06 chassis.
