Dell R720 R620 compatible 750W server supply

This 750 watt ATX power supply carries the CWKMX, 79RDR, 5NF18 and 6W2PW part numbers for direct replacement in Dell PowerEdge R720 and R620 servers. It is a new unit tested working by the supplier and intended for administrators restoring or maintaining those platforms. Builders needing a different form factor or redundant hot-swap capability not covered by this model should look elsewhere.

Normal-use thermals and power draw

The supply delivers up to 750 watts of continuous output under typical server loads. Internal fan speed adjusts to thermal demand, so acoustic output rises with sustained high-wattage operation. No independent noise or efficiency figures are provided, so exact decibel levels and power-factor data remain unspecified.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 750W unit into a Dell PowerEdge R720, and which step is often missed?

Slide the supply into the hot-swap bay until the latch clicks; the step many miss is pressing the release tab fully so the latch engages and the amber fault LED stays off.

What maintenance or replacement will the CWKMX 79RDR 5NF18 6W2PW need later?

The internal fan bearings are the only wear item; plan to replace the fan assembly when noise increases or the iDRAC reports a fan-speed warning.
