Questions about this item

Will the IDE interface on this CD-ROM drive require any future maintenance or replacement?

The drive uses a standard IDE interface and is supplied new and tested working, so no maintenance or replacement of the interface is expected under normal use.

What is the first limit that appears when the drive is used continuously for long periods?

Sustained use will first be limited by the mechanical wear of the laser pickup and spindle motor, as the drive is a standard CD-ROM unit with no active cooling.
