Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The unit delivers a steady 400W output through a standard ATX connector layout suited to the CX platform. Under typical loads the fan runs at modest speed keeping internal temperatures stable while audible noise remains low. Power efficiency is consistent with the original specification so the system draws only what the components require.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 400W ATX power supply in a CX300 chassis, and which step is often missed?

Fit the unit into the CX300 bay, secure the four mounting screws, connect the 24-pin ATX and 4-pin CPU cables, then switch the rear voltage selector to match local mains — this selector step is frequently forgotten.

What maintenance or replacement will the CX500 400W supply need over time?

Clean the intake fan and heatsink every six to twelve months; replace the unit if fan noise increases, voltages drift under load, or the system restarts unexpectedly.
