Compatible HP ProDesk G2 models

Sustained-load behaviour

The 80 PLUS Gold certification maintains high efficiency during continuous operation, reducing heat output and lowering energy costs. Resonant LLC topology with DC-to-DC conversion delivers stable voltage rails under prolonged demand while minimising coil whine.

Modern Standby upgrade path

The unit adds Modern Standby compatibility to supported G2 systems, enabling near-instant wake times and deeper low-power sleep states. Zero RPM fan mode keeps the system silent at idle and light loads, replacing the constant fan noise of older OEM supplies.

Questions about this item

How loud does the 280W unit run under continuous load?

Zero RPM Fan Mode stops the fan completely at low and medium loads, while 80 PLUS Gold efficiency keeps heat and noise down even when the power supply runs all day.

Which motherboard connectors must my system already provide for this ATX power supply?

The unit uses a standard ATX form factor, so your motherboard needs the matching 24-pin main power and 4-pin or 8-pin CPU power headers.

Will this power supply work with the older ProDesk 600 G2 chassis I already own?

Yes, it replaces part numbers 796418-001, 796348-001, 901910-003, 796417-001, 901911-002 and fits the ProDesk 600, 680, 800 and 880 G2 models.
