Single-board computer with an 8-core RK3588S2 SoC, 6 TOPS NPU, 8K video decode, 8 GB RAM and 32 GB storage
The Khadas Edge 2 is a single-board computer built around the Rockchip RK3588S2 system-on-chip. It delivers eight 64-bit cores, a Mali-G610 MP4 GPU and a 6 TOPS neural processing unit. The board targets makers, AI researchers and embedded engineers who need high-performance edge inference in a small footprint.
Four display outputs — one HDMI, one USB-C and two DSI lanes — drive up to four independent screens, though the OS may limit the actual count. Three MIPI-CSI and two MIPI-DSI FPC sockets plus a 7-pin Pogo pad expose camera, display, UART, USB and 5 V power lines for custom daughter boards. The AP6275P module adds Wi-Fi 6 with 2T2R antennas for stable wireless links.
The octa-core Cortex-A76/A55 cluster and 6 TOPS NPU replace earlier quad-core boards that struggle with real-time vision or multi-stream 8K decode at 60 fps. The jump is worth it when workloads need simultaneous 8K encode at 30 fps, 32-channel 1080p decode or TensorFlow and PyTorch models running locally without cloud latency.

The HDMI port supports 8K video decoding at 60fps and 8K encoding at 30fps using H.265 and VP9 codecs.
The board provides one 30-pin MIPI-DSI, one 40-pin MIPI-DSI, three 30-pin MIPI-CSI and two additional 30-pin FPC connectors for accessories.
Insert a prepared microSD card or eMMC module, connect power via the USB-C port, and ensure the boot-mode jumpers are set correctly before applying power.
