Extension board links Tone2 Maker Kit to VIM3, VIM3L or VIM4 via M.2 for USB data and 3.3 V power delivery
The Khadas T2V Extension Board bridges a 14-Pin FPC connector on the Tone2 Maker Kit to the M.2 connector on a VIM3, VIM3L or VIM4 single-board computer. It enables USB data transmission and delivers power at a rated 3.3 V. The stackable design keeps the three boards aligned in a compact assembly.
This board removes the need for custom cables or hand-soldered interconnects when joining a Tone2 Maker Kit to a compatible VIM module. The upgrade is worth it when a project demands reliable USB data paths and consistent power delivery without loose jumper wires. Builders who need a different pinout or a non-M.2 host interface will not find a match here.
The 78.55 mm by 37.76 mm PCB fits between the two devices and adds only 0.80 mm bare-board height or 2.90 mm with components mounted. It comfortably carries USB signalling and the rated 3.3 V supply across the stack. Designs that require higher voltage rails, longer cable runs or additional GPIO breakout will run out of headroom with this board alone.

The package includes three long-head M2 standoffs, one short-head M2 standoff, four through-hole M2 standoffs and five M2 screws for stacking the VIM, T2V and Tone2 Maker Kit.
Align the 14-pin FPC connector on the Tone2 Maker Kit with the matching socket on the T2V board, insert the cable with contacts facing the correct direction, then lock the retaining flap to secure the connection.
The board provides rated 3.3 V DC power delivery from the host VIM3, VIM3L or VIM4 over the M.2 interface, so no external power supply is required for the Tone2 Maker Kit.
