Purpose & Audience

The Killark 1FB is a single-gang weatherproof cover made from aluminium for use with FS or FD mounting boxes. It is intended for electricians and facility managers who need a blank, corrosion-resistant lid that meets NEMA 3 protection in vertical mounting orientations.

Practical Limits

The cover carries a NEMA 3 rating and is listed to CSA LR11852 and UL E3397, so it is suitable for outdoor locations where falling dirt, rain, sleet or external ice formation occur. It is not rated for submersion, high-pressure wash-down or hazardous-classified areas, and the blank design provides no knockouts for cable entry or device mounting.

Installation Notes

Mounting screws are included, allowing direct attachment to a compatible single-gang FS or FD box in a vertical orientation. The shallow 1/8 in depth leaves minimal space behind the lid, so installers must verify that the box interior is clear of obstructions. Misalignment of the mounting holes or use with non-FS/FD boxes are the most common fitment issues.
