Straight Blade Plug 250 V 15 A

This straight blade plug operates at 250 V AC and 60 Hz with a 15 A current rating and 2 hp motor rating. It uses a NEMA 6-15P configuration with three wires and two poles. The copper-free aluminum construction meets NEMA ratings 3, 7, and 9 for hazardous locations. It suits industrial equipment needing a durable, grounded connection.

Simple wiring with three conductors

Installation requires terminating three wires to the two-pole terminal block inside the unfinished copper-free aluminum body. The straightforward NEMA 6-15P layout reduces wiring errors, but the unfinished surface demands clean contact preparation to prevent oxidation. No special tools are needed beyond standard wire strippers and a screwdriver for the terminal screws.

Steady 15 A load handling

Under sustained load the plug maintains its 15 A rating at 250 V AC without derating for the 2 hp motor duty. The copper-free aluminum housing dissipates heat adequately for continuous industrial use within the NEMA 3, 7, and 9 environmental limits. Performance stays consistent during extended operation rather than only in short bursts.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the 15 A 250 V AC 60 Hz plug is working correctly after wiring?

Verify the NEMA 6-15P blade orientation matches the receptacle, ensure all three wires are secured to the correct terminals, then apply power and check for 250 V AC across the hot poles with a multimeter while the connected load runs within the 2 hp rating.

What components are included with the UGP-15232QWWW and what must be sourced separately?

The package contains the straight-blade plug body made of copper-free aluminum with an unfinished surface; you must supply the 3-wire cable, appropriate strain relief, and any conduit or enclosure required for NEMA 3, 7, 9 environments.

Which NEMA configuration should I select for a 15 A 250 V single-phase motor circuit?

Choose the NEMA 6-15P version, which provides two poles and three wires rated 15 A at 250 V AC 60 Hz and supports up to 2 hp — matching the UGP-15232QWWW specifications exactly.
