Bathroom faucet with pressure balance

The Kingston Brass KB3635AX tub and shower faucet uses a pressure-balance valve to maintain steady water temperature during pressure changes. Its oil-rubbed bronze finish resists tarnishing and corrosion on the solid brass waterway. The unit delivers 2.5 GPM at 60 PSI and includes a six-inch reach shower arm for standard installations.

Flow rate and pressure performance

At 60 PSI the faucet provides 2.5 gallons per minute, equivalent to 9.5 litres per minute, meeting typical shower expectations without excess consumption. The pressure-balance mechanism reacts to supply fluctuations to reduce sudden temperature spikes. No additional flow controls or temperature limit stops are described in the specifications.

Solid brass construction and mounting

The waterway is built from solid brass for durability and leak resistance, while the premium colour finish is formulated to withstand daily exposure to water and cleaning agents. The six-inch shower arm mounts to a standard wall connection, allowing straightforward replacement of existing tub-and-shower trim. No diverter type or handle configuration is specified in the data.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 6 inch reach shower arm without cross-threading the brass waterway?

Wrap the threads with PTFE tape, hand-tighten the arm into the brass waterway, then give one firm quarter-turn with a strap wrench; over-tightening strips the soft bronze finish.

Which part of the oil rubbed bronze finish needs replacement first under daily use?

The shower arm and handle see the most contact; the premium colour finish resists tarnishing, but mineral build-up on the arm threads eventually requires cleaning or arm replacement.

At what pressure does the 2.5 GPM flow rate become the limiting factor during a long shower?

The 2.5 GPM / 9.5 LPM rating is measured at 60 PSI; if supply pressure drops below that, flow falls proportionally and becomes the first limit you notice.
