Vehicle Fire Shield

This emergency fire blanket measures 13.1 by 19.6 ft and is built for electric and petrol vehicles. It smothers flames by cutting off oxygen and withstands temperatures up to 1022°F. The set includes a waterproof drawstring bag for grab-and-go storage. It suits drivers, garages and campsite safety kits.

Fibreglass Build & Deployment

Premium fibreglass construction handles 550°C continuous exposure while remaining non-stick and reusable. The blanket weighs 16 kg and requires two people to deploy effectively over a burning vehicle. Its silver surface reflects radiant heat and the carry bag protects the fabric from moisture and UV damage between uses.

Upgrade From Small Extinguishers

This blanket replaces handheld extinguishers that cannot contain a full vehicle fire or cool a battery pack. The 4×6 m coverage stops secondary combustion within 30 minutes, a capability single-person units lack. Buyers needing lighter weight or solo operation should consider smaller suppression tools instead.

Questions about this item

What temperature can the 1022°F fire blanket withstand in practice?

The fibreglass material is rated to endure up to 1022°F (550°C), providing a high heat barrier that contains flames and protects surrounding areas during a vehicle fire.

How much space and manpower does the 13.1x19.6 ft blanket need for deployment?

The 4×6 m blanket weighs 16 kg (approx. 35 lbs) and requires multiple people to unfold and position it fully over a burning vehicle.

What is the correct deployment method and the common mistake to avoid?

Remove the blanket from its waterproof carry bag, have two or more people spread it completely over the vehicle to cut off oxygen, and leave it in place for at least 30 minutes to prevent re-ignition; the frequent error is lifting it too early.
