The Klein Tools 1000 combines cutting, stripping, crimping and bolt shearing in one hand tool. It is built for electricians and technicians who need multiple wire functions on a job site. The tool handles solid wire from 10 to 22 AWG and stranded wire from 10 to 26 AWG. It also shears common machine screws from 4-40 through 10-32.

Capacity and headroom

The stripping holes cover a wide range of residential and light commercial wire gauges. Two cutter positions let you snip at the tip or near the pivot for leverage. Bolt shear stations accommodate six thread sizes used in electrical boxes and fixtures. The crimp nests accept insulated solderless terminals, but the tool does not crimp non-insulated or open-barrel contacts.

Thermals noise and power draw

Plastic-covered cushioned grips reduce hand fatigue during repetitive cuts and crimps. No motor, battery or electronics are present, so the tool produces no heat, noise or electrical draw. Operation is entirely manual, limited only by the user's grip strength. The clamshell package contains one unit.
