Automatic wire stripper and cutter handles 14-24 AWG solid or stranded wire with adjustable stop and tension knob, plus built-in cutter for 0.8-8 mm range
This Klein Tools automatic wire stripper handles solid-core and stranded wires from 14 to 24 AWG. The eagle-nose design reaches into tight spaces such as under a dashboard. A built-in cutter trims conductors from 0.8 mm to 8 mm. The tool suits electricians, automotive technicians and DIY enthusiasts who need repeatable stripping in confined areas.
A spring-loaded handle lets the user strip insulation with a light squeeze, reducing hand fatigue during repetitive work. An adjustable tension knob increases pulling force clockwise and decreases it counter-clockwise to protect fine copper strands. The self-adjusting jaws and a wire stop set stripping length up to 1 inch for consistent results.
The stripper is calibrated only for 14 through 24 AWG conductors, covering 0.2 mm² to 5.5 mm² cross-sections. It will not reliably strip larger-gauge power cables or smaller data wires outside this window. Buyers who need to process 10 AWG or 30 AWG must choose a different tool.

Slide the adjustable wire stopper to the desired length up to 1 inch, then tighten it; the step often missed is re-checking the stop after the first strip because vibration can shift it.
The spring-loaded return spring and the stripping blades dull with heavy use; the tension knob threads can also loosen over time.
Hand fatigue from repetitive squeezing appears before the tool overheats, especially when working at the 24 AWG end where finer adjustment is needed.
