Klein Tools R-999 Kit Contents

The Klein Tools R-999 is a red hand rivet nut setter kit designed for technicians who need to install threaded inserts into thin sheet metal or plastic. It supplies the core tool and mandrels for on-site fastening work.

Practical Limits of Manual Rivet Nut Setting

The tool relies on hand-lever force, so the maximum insert size and material thickness are constrained by operator strength. Very large diameters or hardened workpieces may exceed the practical torque the lever can deliver.

Installation and Common Issues

Assembly requires threading the correct mandrel onto the nosepiece and adjusting the stroke for the chosen nut size. Cross-threading the mandrel or selecting the wrong pitch are the most frequent setup errors that damage inserts.
