A 7 1/2 in ratchet crimper that cuts, strips and terminates voice and data cable for RJ22, RJ-11, RJ12 and RJ-45 connectors
The Klein Tools VDV226-011-SEN is a 7 1/2 in ratchet crimper built for terminating modular connectors on voice and data cable. It handles 4, 6 and 8 position plugs including RJ22, RJ-11, RJ12 and RJ-45 types. The tool suits installers who need a single hand tool for cutting, stripping and crimping on site.
The ratchet mechanism enforces a full cycle before release, which prevents partial crimps on uninsulated terminals in the 28 to 22 AWG range. A built-in safety release lets the user abort a cycle if the connector is misaligned. Blade guards cover the cutting and stripping knives when the tool is closed.
This unit combines three functions so the technician carries fewer items on the belt. The jump is worth it when the job involves repeated termination of round STP/UTP or flat satin phone cable with standard modular plugs. It does not serve applications that require adjustable crimp force or interchangeable die sets.
