A compact ratchet crimper that cuts, strips and terminates CAT3, CAT5e and CAT6 voice and data cables with an ergonomic handle
The Klein Tools VDV226-107 is a compact ratchet crimper built for terminating voice and data cables. It handles CAT3, CAT5e and CAT6 conductors and also cuts and strips flat or satin phone cable. The ergonomic handles and steel frame are designed for repeated professional use.
Technicians who need a single tool to cut, strip and crimp uninsulated connectors on twisted-pair and flat cable will find this model suitable. It does not support coaxial, fibre or insulated terminals, so installers working with those media should look at a different tool.
The crimper uses a non-interchangeable die set matched to the three listed cable categories. Because the dies cannot be swapped, the tool is limited to those specific connector positions and cannot be adapted for other connector types.

The tool crimps CAT3, CAT5e and CAT6 voice and data cables, both shielded and unshielded twisted pair, plus flat or satin phone cable.
Yes, the ratchet mechanism is rated for CAT3, CAT5e and CAT6, so legacy CAT3 cords crimp with the same action as newer categories.
The ratchet releases only when the cycle completes, giving a tactile click that confirms the connector is fully seated and compressed.
