Sleep/wake and stand features

Opening the cover wakes the eReader automatically and closing it puts the device to sleep, helping to conserve battery life. A built-in 2-way stand props the reader upright in both landscape and portrait orientation for hands-free reading.

Installation and common issues

The cover snaps onto the eReader without tools or adhesives. Misalignment can prevent the sleep/wake sensor from triggering, so the cover must sit flush on all edges. The stand hinge may feel stiff at first but loosens with use.

Questions about this item

Will the vegan leather cover or magnetic sleep/wake mechanism wear out and need replacing?

The cover uses recycled vegan leather and built-in magnets for automatic sleep/wake; normal use may eventually show surface wear, but no user-serviceable parts are inside.

What stops me from using the 2-way stand continuously in landscape or portrait mode?

The integrated stand holds the Clara Colour or Clara BW at two fixed angles; stability depends on the flat surface, and the cover adds minimal bulk.

Does the cover trap heat or drain the eReader battery when left closed all day?

The magnetic sleep/wake function puts the device to sleep when closed, conserving battery, and the thin vegan leather layer does not insulate heat noticeably.
