What it is

The Kodak RODLLP12X8 is a 12x8 inch LED light box designed for viewing and digitising slides, negatives and film. It delivers up to 98 percent colour accuracy with glare-free, even illumination across the acrylic panel. The unit suits photographers, archivists and artists who need a portable, high-fidelity light source for transparencies or tracing work.

How it fits a workspace

The panel measures 3.8 by 30.1 by 44.5 centimetres and draws power from a standard USB connection, so it runs from a laptop, power bank or wall adapter without a dedicated supply. Its slim profile lets it sit on a desk or slide into a drawer, camera bag or suitcase for mobile use. The surface doubles as a drafting aid for sketching, calligraphy, tattoo stencils and architectural plans.

Thermals, noise and power

LED operation produces negligible heat during extended sessions, keeping the viewing area comfortable for delicate film. There are no moving parts, so the light box runs silently in quiet studios or shared spaces. USB power keeps consumption low and eliminates the need for an external transformer or fan cooling.

Questions about this item

How long can the 98% colour-accurate LEDs run continuously before heat affects output?

The panel is designed for extended viewing and scanning sessions; its slim 3.8 cm profile and acrylic diffuser dissipate heat passively so brightness stays consistent during all-day use.

Is the USB-powered light box silent when left on for hours?

Yes — there are no fans or moving parts, so the unit operates completely silently while plugged into any standard USB port.

What power source do I need to have ready for the USB cable?

Any 5 V USB port — computer, wall adapter or power bank — supplies the required power; no separate mains brick is included.
