Genuine Kohler Transfer Cartridge

The Kohler 1145688 is a replacement transfer cartridge designed to restore proper water diversion in compatible Kohler bath faucets. It replaces a worn or faulty original assembly so the faucet can switch flow between outlets again. This part is sold new and carries the manufacturer's branding. Installation returns the valve to its intended function without replacing the entire trim.

For Kohler Faucet Owners Needing Diverter Repair

This cartridge suits homeowners or plumbers repairing a specific Kohler faucet that uses the 1145688 transfer assembly. It will not fit faucets from other brands or Kohler models that require a different cartridge design. Buyers who need a complete valve body, a pressure-balance cartridge, or a different diverter mechanism should verify the correct part number before ordering.

Simple Valve-Body Swap With Basic Tools

Replacement involves shutting off the water supply, removing the handle and trim, then unthreading the old cartridge and threading in the new one. Common issues include seized retaining nuts that require penetrating oil, debris left in the valve body that can cause leaks, and reassembling the handle in the wrong orientation. Flushing the lines after installation clears any remaining particles.
