Game modes and player count

Super Bomberman R 2 delivers Story Mode, Battle Mode, Standard, Battle 64, Grand Prix and Castle for Xbox One owners. Up to 64 players can join a single match and 29 characters are available from launch. Cross-platform play connects Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS5, PS4, PC Steam and Switch users in the same lobbies.

Build fit and offline flexibility

The disc works on any Xbox One console without extra hardware and supports both online and offline battle options. A built-in Level Editor lets players create custom stages that can be shared across the cross-platform network. Graded Match and Room Match systems handle matchmaking while local play remains fully functional without an internet connection.

Upgrade path and genre limits

This sequel adds 3D stages with dynamic environments and a larger character roster compared to earlier Bomberman titles on Xbox. The ESRB E10+ rating means the content suits players aged ten and older. Buyers who want a narrative-driven single-player campaign beyond the included Story Mode or a different action sub-genre should look elsewhere.
