Mechanics gloves with cut and impact protection

The KONG KRC5-04-L gloves are personal protective equipment built for mechanics and riggers who handle sharp or heavy components. They combine an A5 cut-resistance rating on the palm with ANSI/ISEA Impact Level 2 protection on the back of the hand. The gauntlet cuff extends coverage over the wrist while the synthetic leather palm uses a silicone grip coating for secure handling. Installation is as simple as pulling the glove on; the elasticised nylon and spandex back stretches to fit and the gauntlet cuff slides over a sleeve without straps or closures. Because the liner is unlined, the gloves can feel cool in cold environments and offer no thermal insulation. The TPR rubber knuckle guards are stitched in place and may limit finger flexion for very fine work. Users should check that the silicone coating is compatible with any chemicals or paints they handle.

The EN-rated cut resistance applies only to the palm side, so the back of the hand relies on the TPR guards rather than cut-resistant fibres. Impact protection meets ANSI/ISEA Level 2, which covers typical knocks but not severe crushing forces. The silicone grip coating improves hold on dry or lightly oily surfaces yet can attract debris and may degrade with prolonged solvent exposure. These gloves are not insulated, so they do not protect against extreme heat or cold.
