70mm Aperture Refractor Telescope

The Koolpte AZ70400 is a 70mm aperture refractor telescope with a 400mm focal length and f/5.7 ratio. It provides 20x to 200x magnification using three eyepieces and a 3x Barlow lens. The AZ mount and coated optics suit beginners and casual observers wanting a portable instrument for night-sky viewing.

Smartphone Adapter and Adjustable Tripod

A phone adapter clamps a smartphone to the eyepiece for afocal imaging while the aluminium tripod adjusts for height and stability. The package includes a 5x24 finderscope with cross-hair reticle and a wireless remote to trigger the phone shutter. No additional mounting hardware or power source is required for basic visual use.

Manual Focus and Coated Optics

The optical tube uses anti-reflection coated lenses with scratch-resistant surfaces and a 45-degree field of view. Focusing is manual via a rack-and-pinion knob with no motorised drive. The all-mechanical design draws no power and produces no fan noise, making it suited to quiet outdoor sessions.

Questions about this item

How much magnification can the 70mm aperture 400mm focal-length telescope reach with the included 3× Barlow lens?

The three eyepieces (6mm, 10mm, 25mm) combined with the 3× Barlow give a magnification range of 20× to 200×.

Does the AZ mount vibrate or transmit motor noise during long observing sessions?

The manual alt-azimuth mount has no motor, so it adds no vibration or electrical noise during extended use.

Is a smartphone required to operate the telescope, or can it be used visually straight away?

No smartphone is needed; the telescope works visually with the supplied eyepieces, finder scope and focus knob.
