Koss Jockey DJ Headphones

The Koss 168816-MIX JOCKEY is a wired over-ear stereo headphone built for DJ monitoring and portable listening. Closed leatherette cushions seal around the ears to boost bass response and block external noise. A 1.4 mil mylar driver diaphragm reduces mechanical distortion across an 18Hz-20KHz frequency range. The 100 ohm impedance suits professional audio equipment and mobile devices alike.

Upgrade from open consumer headphones

Replace open-back or earbud models when isolation and durability matter more than critical accuracy. The closed design prevents sound leakage in shared spaces such as dorm rooms or booths. Ferrite drivers deliver high output even from low-voltage portable sources without an amplifier. A gold-flashed 6.3 mm adapter is included for direct connection to mixers and interfaces.

Suits mobile DJs and noise-sensitive listeners

Ideal for users who need foldable, rugged cans that isolate sound in both directions. Buyers who want wireless freedom or active noise cancellation should look elsewhere. The fixed cable and lack of inline controls limit convenience for casual commuting. Audiophiles seeking a neutral reference response may prefer open-back designs.

Questions about this item

Does the 96 inch cable reach a mixer across a standard booth?

The 96 inch cable provides about eight feet of slack, enough for most booth layouts without an extension.

How do I attach the gold-flashed 6.3 mm adapter without damaging the mini-plug?

Align the adapter straight with the plug and push firmly until seated; forcing it at an angle bends the mini-plug pins.

When should I replace the leatherette ear cushions on the 168816-MIX JOCKEY?

Replace cushions when the leatherette cracks or the seal loosens, typically after heavy daily use, to restore bass isolation.
