Lightweight On-Ear Headphones

The Koss KPH7 Colors on-ear headphones weigh 2.4 ounces and use dynamic drivers to cover a frequency range of 80 to 18,000 Hz at 32 Ohms impedance. The straight, dual-entry cord measures four feet and the ear coupling is binaural for stereo listening. A sensitivity of 91 dB SPL allows clear volume from portable sources. The red and silver finish adds a contemporary look to the over-the-head frame.

Listeners Prioritising Minimal Weight

These suit anyone who wants ultra-light headphones for music on the move and who is happy with a wired connection. Buyers who need wireless freedom, active noise cancellation or a detachable cable should consider other designs. The on-ear fit also means less isolation than sealed over-ear models in noisy environments.

32 Ohm Impedance Match

The 32 Ohm rating lets the headphones run efficiently from phone, tablet or MP3 player outputs without a separate amplifier. If your source device has unusually high output impedance or you plan to drive them from dedicated desktop gear, verify that the load matches before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I attach the 4 ft straight dual-entry cable to the headphones, and what step is often missed?

The cable is permanently fixed to both earcups, so there is no connector to plug in; just place the headband over your head and adjust the fit.

Which part of the KPH7 will need replacement first with regular use?

The foam ear cushions typically wear out before the dynamic drivers or headband, and they can be swapped for fresh pads.

What limits listening time during a long session with these 32 ohm, 91 dB SPL headphones?

The on-ear pressure from the lightweight 2.4 oz frame usually becomes uncomfortable before the drivers reach their 18,000 Hz limit.
