Product Identity

The Koss R80 is a circumaural stereo headphone designed for studio monitoring and critical listening. Its 60 ohm impedance suits professional audio interfaces and dedicated headphone amplifiers. The 16Hz to 22KHz frequency response covers the full audible range for accurate sound reproduction.

Build and Connectivity

Oxygen-free copper voice coils improve signal transmission for cleaner sound. The closed leatherette ear cushions provide noise isolation and prevent sound leakage during recording sessions. An 8 foot cable terminates in both 3.5mm and 6.3mm connectors for direct connection to portable devices or studio equipment.

Thermals and Power

Passive operation draws no external power and produces zero self-noise. Dynamic drivers handle up to 101 dB SPL at 1 milliwatt sensitivity with total harmonic distortion below 0.2 percent. The lightweight frame remains comfortable during extended listening without active cooling or batteries.

Questions about this item

What does the 3.5mm and 6.3mm connector setup allow?

The cable terminates in a 3.5mm plug with a screw-on 6.3mm adapter so you can connect to portable devices and professional audio gear without extra cables.

How much space do the circumaural ear cups need?

The extra-large ear cups fully enclose the ears with leatherette cushions that create a seal for isolation; they require enough head width to sit comfortably over both ears.

How do you attach the 6.3mm adapter without it coming loose?

Screw the 6.3mm adapter onto the 3.5mm plug until it seats firmly; the threads prevent it from pulling off during use.
