Dual-HDMI USB-C hub for multi-display setups

This KOZYC K1AD14UH hub adds two HDMI outputs, one USB 3.0 port and 100 W power delivery through a single USB-C connection. It targets laptop users who need to connect two external monitors while keeping the host device charged. The silver aluminium casing measures 5.6 by 4.76 centimetres and weighs 40 grams.

Compact aluminium build

The hub draws power from the host port so no external supply is required. Its short captive cable keeps the two HDMI, USB 3.0 and PD ports close to the laptop, reducing cable strain on a desk or in a bag. Compatible devices must provide a USB-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 alt mode or Thunderbolt 3 support for video output to function.

Display limits depend on the host operating system

Dual 4K at 30 Hz is possible on a single screen, but in multi-stream mode both monitors are limited to 1080p at 60 Hz. Windows enables extended desktop across two screens; macOS and Android restrict output to mirror mode only. HDMI 2.0 or better cables are required to reach 4K resolution.

Questions about this item

What does the USB-C interface with Thunderbolt 3 support cap the video output at?

The hub delivers up to 4K at 30 Hz per display; in multi-stream mode dual monitors are limited to 1080p at 60 Hz.

What physical clearance does the 5.6 by 4.76 cm hub need beside the laptop port?

The compact 40-gram adapter plugs directly into a USB-C socket and only requires space for two HDMI cables, one USB 3.0 device and a 100 W charging cable.

How do I install the hub and what step often causes no video?

Plug the USB-C male into a port that supports DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3; the common mistake is using a USB-C port that carries only data and power.
