Switches keyboard, mouse, dual 4K30 displays, audio and USB 3.0 across four computers while keeping one USB port locked to a single system
The Kramer Electronics DK42HU-N is a dual head 4-port KVM switch built for users who need to share one keyboard, mouse and two HDMI displays across four computers. It suits secure or multi-domain workstations where peripheral isolation matters.
The switch drives dual displays up to 3840x2160 at 30Hz for clear UHD visuals across both screens. Extended or duplicated display modes give flexibility for different workflow layouts. KM mode allows keyboard and mouse control across computers that each drive up to four displays.
A unique function lets you assign a USB 3.0 port to stay mapped to a specific computer while the KVM switches all other peripherals. This keeps smart card readers or storage keys bound to their host system. Freeze Audio maintains a dedicated audio path independent of video switching. || Buyers needing more than four computer ports or higher refresh rates at 4K will need a different solution. The unit does not support single-head operation or DisplayPort inputs.

Connect each computer's dual HDMI outputs and USB cables to the four ports, attach two monitors to the console HDMI outputs, then use the front panel or hotkeys to assign the USB 3.0 port to stay mapped to one computer while the keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices switch normally.
No scheduled maintenance is required; keep ventilation slots clear of dust, verify HDMI and USB cables remain firmly seated, and check for firmware updates from the manufacturer if switching behaviour changes.
The switch supports up to 3840x2160 at 30Hz per display; pushing higher refresh rates or resolutions beyond 4K30 will exceed the HDMI bandwidth and cause signal loss.
