SmartCode 910 Z-Wave Deadbolt

The Kwikset SmartCode 910 is a motorised deadbolt that uses Z-Wave wireless protocol to connect with compatible home automation hubs. It replaces a standard deadbolt on exterior doors and provides keyless entry via a backlit keypad. The lock is powered by four AA batteries and includes a physical keyway for backup access.

Suits owners with a Z-Wave hub.

This lock suits households that already run a Z-Wave certified controller such as SmartThings, Wink or Iris and want remote lock status, code management and voice control through that ecosystem. It will not connect directly to a home Wi-Fi network or a Thread border router, so buyers without a Z-Wave hub should look at a different protocol.

Motorised deadbolt enables true remote operation

The internal motor throws and retracts the bolt automatically, allowing genuine remote lock and unlock commands from the automation platform rather than only local keypad entry. This mechanical action distinguishes it from latch-only electronic locks that cannot secure a door remotely.
