Product Identity

The Kwikset 99730-003 Halifax dummy trim provides a fixed, non-latching handle with a square full escutcheon in a Venetian Bronze finish. It suits interior doors where a matching pull is needed without a locking mechanism, such as closets, pantries or passage doors paired with a separate latch. Buyers who need a functioning lockset or an exterior entry handle should look elsewhere.

Interface Limits

This item operates as a standalone dummy component and does not connect to a latch bolt, strike plate or cylinder. The square escutcheon covers a standard bore hole but the trim itself has no moving parts, so it cannot retract a bolt or secure a door. Installers must supply their own mounting screws and ensure the door thickness matches the hardware's fixed dimensions.

Installation Notes

Mounting is straightforward: align the escutcheon over the existing bore, insert the supplied or compatible screws and tighten evenly to avoid binding. Common issues include misaligned screw holes on pre-drilled doors and finishes that show fingerprints until wiped clean. The trim ships new from the manufacturer and carries no mechanical adjustment once fixed.

Questions about this item

Which Kwikset Halifax dummy trim version matches the 99730-003 model?

The 99730-003 is the Halifax dummy trim with a square full escutcheon in Venetian Bronze finish, identified by the 973HFLSQF-11P designation.

What does the 11P marking indicate once the trim is installed on a door?

The 11P code denotes the Venetian Bronze finish on the square escutcheon and lever, giving a consistent dark bronze appearance on the interior side of the door.

How does the dummy function limit what the trim can do compared to a passage or privacy set?

As a dummy trim it has no latch or locking mechanism; it is surface-mounted purely as a pull handle for inactive doors such as closet or pantry openings.
