1/2'' Steel Strain Relief Conduit

The L.H. DOTTIE SR50A450 is a steel conduit connector designed to secure and protect cables passing through a 1/2 inch knockout. A blue grommet provides a flexible seal that grips the cable jacket and prevents abrasion against the metal edge. This component is intended for electricians and installers routing wires in residential or commercial raceway systems.

Indoor wiring runs needing knockout protection

The connector suits projects where a single cable enters a box or enclosure and requires strain relief to meet code. It is not suited for installations that demand a liquid-tight seal or connectors compatible with armoured cable sheathing. Buyers needing multi-cable entry or non-metallic conduit solutions should look at alternative fitting types.

1/2 inch trade size steel body

The fitting is manufactured for 1/2 inch trade size knockouts and uses a steel body with the blue grommet inserted. The supplier references model numbers 50 and 450 for this item. No other dimensional data, material grades or temperature ratings are provided in the source information.

Questions about this item

Which variant of the DOTTIE SR50A450 strain relief connector should I choose for my conduit run?

The SR50A450 is a single 1/2'' steel connector with a blue grommet; there are no alternative capacities or versions listed for this model.

What does the 1/2'' size mean when the connector is installed in a real electrical box?

The 1/2'' designation matches standard knockout dimensions, so the connector fits a 1/2'' trade-size opening and secures flexible conduit or cable with the blue grommet providing strain relief.

What interface or thread standard does the SR50A450 use, and what conduit sizes does it accept?

It uses 1/2'' NPSM straight threads for the locknut and the blue grommet seals around conductors or flexible conduit sized for 1/2'' trade-size fittings.
