Measures non-magnetic coating thickness on magnetic substrates up to 1000 µm with single and continuous modes, metric or imperial units, auto calibration and substrate recognition
The LANDTEK CM-8821 measures non-magnetic coating thickness on magnetic substrates using magnetic induction. It offers single and continuous measurement modes for flat or curved surfaces. Metric and imperial units are selectable. Automatic calibration memory and substrate recognition simplify operation.
Suited for professionals verifying paint or galvanising thickness on steel panels. The continuous mode helps with curved or tiny parts. Not for users needing to measure coatings on non-magnetic substrates such as aluminium or plastic. Buyers who require eddy-current or dual-probe capability should look elsewhere.
The F-probe covers coatings from zero to 1000 micrometres on magnetic bases. This range decides whether the gauge fits your specification. No other probe types or extended ranges are included.
Measured against everything we stock in Electrical Trade Tools & Kits, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

The F probe uses magnetic induction so it only reads non-magnetic coatings on magnetic substrates such as paint on steel; it cannot measure non-ferrous metals or non-conductive substrates.
The probe tip must contact the coated surface directly; allow enough space for the probe body and cable to rest flat against the panel without bending the lead.
Power on, select metric or imperial, place the probe on the supplied uncoated reference block to auto-calibrate, then measure; skipping the reference-block step stores an offset that skews every result.
