Fruit Hardness Testing

The LANDTEK FHT-15 is a dedicated fruit hardness tester designed to measure firmness across a range of produce sizes. It provides a direct reading for quality assessment during harvesting, storage, or processing. The unit is supplied new in a single box.

Small and Large Fruit Grading

This instrument suits growers, packers, and inspectors who need to verify the firmness of both small and large fruit categories. It is not intended for buyers who require automated sorting line integration or non-destructive acoustic measurement methods.

Test Equipment Type

The product is classified as test equipment specifically for fruit firmness evaluation. This designation confirms its role as a measurement tool rather than a general-purpose electrician tool, guiding the buyer to the correct application.

Questions about this item

How does the 15 reading translate when testing small versus large fruit?

The 15 scale covers the full range from soft small fruit to firm large fruit so one instrument handles both categories.

What measurement standard does the FHT-15 use and what does it cap?

It uses a mechanical penetration scale that tops out at 15, giving a direct firmness value without electronic conversion.

What does the tester need to sit on or mount to for stable readings?

The handheld design requires only a steady grip; no bench mount or fixture is necessary for operation.
