Provides secure remote KVM-over-IP access for servers with dual network ports and USB/VGA connectivity in a zero-footprint 0U rack-mountable design
The Lantronix Spider is a compact KVM-over-IP switch that connects directly to a server through VGA and USB. It provides secure remote keyboard, video and mouse access over an IP network from any web browser. The 0U form factor mounts in a rack without consuming rack units, making it suited for dense environments.
This unit removes the distance limits of server-to-switch CAT5 cabling by placing the IP interface at the server itself. The jump is worth it when administrators need 24/7 browser-based access to mission-critical servers spread across data centres, campuses or branch offices without running long KVM cables.
It fits teams that need low cost-per-user remote management for geographically dispersed equipment. Buyers who require more than two network ports or additional video inputs should look at something else.

It is a zero-footprint device that mounts without consuming any rack units, leaving full U space available for other equipment.
Plug the VGA connector into the server video port and both USB cables into keyboard and mouse ports; the second USB link is frequently forgotten.
The VGA and USB cables are the primary wear items; network ports are solid-state and rarely require service.
