Surface-Mount Electric Strike
The Lee Electric rim surface-mount door lock is an 8-16V AC electric strike designed for surface installation on metal or wood jambs. It suits in-swinging doors and works with locksets or night latches having up to 5/8" throw based on a 1/8" door gap. The die-cast housing measures 2-1/8" x 1-3/16" with a cavity depth of 1/2".
Ideal for Retrofit Access Control
This strike suits installers adding electric release to existing rim hardware without mortising the frame. It mounts on the inactive leaf of a pair of doors. Builders needing a mortised strike, a DC voltage option, or compatibility with throws exceeding 5/8" should look at other models.
Hardware-Only Installation Kit
The unit ships as a single strike body with no lockset, wiring, transformer, or controller included. The surface-mount design and fixed cavity dimensions of 1/2" depth, 1/2" width, and 1-3/8" height determine the prep work required on the jamb. Integrators must supply a compatible 8-16V AC power source and access control logic separately.

Questions about this item
What voltage supply must I already have to operate this 8-16 Volt AC door strike?
You need an AC transformer or power supply that delivers between 8 and 16 volts AC; the strike will not work on DC voltage.
Can I keep my existing lockset or night latch with up to 5/8” throw when installing this surface-mounted strike?
Yes, the strike is designed for locksets or night latches with up to 5/8” throw based on a 1/8” door gap.
After wiring the strike, how can I confirm it releases the latch correctly?
Apply the rated AC voltage; the keeper should move freely and allow the door to open when the lockset or night latch is turned.
