SKU CH-GSYF-ERHRF

No-lead cast bronze reducing coupling connects 1-1/4 inch and 1/2 inch FNPT threads for potable water systems

  • No-lead bronze reduces health risks
  • Cast bronze construction resists corrosion
  • Threaded FNPT ends simplify installation
  • Reducing design connects different pipe sizes
  • California Proposition 65 chemical warning applies

Product Identity

The Legend Valve 310-374NL is a no-lead cast bronze reducing coupling sized at 1-1/4" x 1/2" with FNPT threads on both ends. It is intended for plumbers and facility managers joining dissimilar pipe diameters in potable water systems.

Compatibility Check

Verify that the existing piping uses female National Pipe Thread connections matching the 1-1/4" and 1/2" dimensions. Confirm local codes accept no-lead bronze for the intended service and that the chemical warning under Proposition 65 does not restrict the installation environment.

Build and Daily Use

The cast bronze body resists corrosion and deformation under normal pressure cycles, while the wrench flats allow secure tightening without damaging the fitting. The reducing profile creates a permanent step between pipe sizes, so plan the layout knowing the transition cannot be reoriented after assembly.

Questions about this item

What comes with the 310-374NL reducing coupling and what else is needed for installation?

The box contains the no-lead cast bronze reducing coupling with FNPT threads on both ends. Pipe sealant or Teflon tape must be purchased separately to make the threaded joints watertight.

How do I choose between the available sizes of this Legend Valve coupling?

This specific model is a 1-1/4" x 1/2" reducing coupling. Select it when you need to join a 1-1/4 inch female NPT pipe to a 1/2 inch female NPT pipe in a potable water system.

What does the no-lead designation mean for this coupling once installed in a plumbing system?

The no-lead cast bronze construction meets low-lead requirements for potable water, making it suitable for drinking water lines. The Proposition 65 warning indicates the product contains a chemical known to California to cause cancer and reproductive harm.
